ABOUT ME


Arlinda is a trauma-informed yoga teacher, Yoga Nidra guide, postpartum doula, and founder of Arlinda’s Asanas — a Black and brown-owned yoga space rooted in healing, accessibility, and community care.

Born and raised in North Philadelphia, Arlinda discovered yoga during one of the darkest seasons of her life after losing her mother at a young age. What began as a personal healing practice eventually became a calling to help others reconnect with themselves through movement, mindfulness, breathwork, and yoga philosophy.

Today, she offers intentional yoga classes in Jenkintown and Philadelphia designed to support beginners, mothers, trauma survivors, caregivers, and anyone seeking a deeper connection to yoga beyond the workout.

Her classes blend grounding movement, honest storytelling, good music, guided meditation, and nervous system support — all while creating a welcoming environment where students can show up exactly as they are.

Because yoga was never meant to be about perfection.
It was meant to bring us back to ourselves.

  • Yinyasa Yoga – A blend of yin and vinyasa: starting with gentle yin-style holds to release tension, then moving into an energizing flow.

  • Kids Yoga – Fun, creative movement that helps children build confidence, focus, and emotional awareness.

  • Prenatal Yoga – Gentle, supportive practices designed for pregnancy, helping relieve discomfort and prepare the body for labor. (Ask about postpartum doula services)

Yoga supports both the body and mind. Physically, it can improve flexibility, strength, and posture while relieving tension. Mentally and emotionally, it reduces stress, increases focus, and creates space for calm. Many students also find yoga helps them sleep better, breathe easier, and feel more grounded in daily life.

Expect a welcoming environment where all levels are celebrated. Mats and props are often available (check the class description), but you’re welcome to bring your own. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Every class includes breathwork, guided movement, and time for rest—so you’ll leave feeling balanced and refreshed.

A postpartum doula supports families during the transition after birth. My services include:

  • Newborn care guidance

  • Support for infant feeding (breast/chest/bottle)

  • Light household support (meals, laundry, tidying)

  • Emotional support and resources for parents

  • Gentle yoga and breathwork for postpartum healing
